King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), through its Energy Environment Safety and Health Center (EESH), partnered with the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) to organize a practical training program on “Enhancing Laboratory Safety Standards Using ESPReL Checklist.” The workshop took place on July 10, 2023, at KMUTT Bangmod, and on July 20, 2023, at KMUTT Bang Khun Thian. The event was honored by Assoc. Prof. Suchada Chaisawasdi, Director of the EESH and the project leader of the 2023 University Laboratory Safety Standards, along with speakers Mr. Amornthep Kumsuk, Mr. Jenwit Tippayasart, Ms. Aparporn Daloonchim, and Ms. Sarutta Suanrattan.

The training aimed to educate laboratory heads, lecturers, researchers, and personnel working in laboratories on laboratory safety standards. This knowledge would enable them to prepare for and comply with relevant policies, assess the safety of various laboratories, and make continuous improvements towards laboratory safety. Furthermore, the program was designed to develop personnel to become trainers in laboratory safety standards.

This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), focusing on sustainable waste management practices.
