The Green Heart student leaders at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) spearheaded the “Green Heart Camp Online” under the theme “Green School Network: Green Heart Junior.” The event was conducted online, with Assistant Professor Suchada Chaiyaswat, Director of the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Health Center (EESH), presiding over the opening ceremony on July 2-3, 2022.

The camp focused on expanding knowledge and understanding of energy conservation, environmental protection, safety, and health awareness, as well as sustainable measures to combat global warming. The goal was to extend these learnings to communities and schools through teachers and students participating in the activities. This initiative aimed to disseminate good practices in energy conservation, environmental protection, and safety to broader communities and society, fostering sustainability and national benefits.

Held online via Zoom, adhering to social distancing principles and KMUTT New Normal guidelines, the event attracted teachers and students from across Thailand, with over 300 participants. The camp effectively expanded the Green School Network to various regions. This initiative supports the creation of a sustainable university in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, specifically targeting Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being for people at all levels, Goal 4: Quality Education and lifelong learning for everyone, Goal 13: Promoting effective climate change planning and management mechanisms in countries, and Goal 17: Fostering cooperative networks to facilitate sustainable development.
