King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), under the guidance of the EESH center, teamed up with the student leaders of the Green Heart Team, to organize an educational event aimed at fostering leadership within schools. This initiative was specifically directed towards the students and teaching staff of Supitchaya School, with over 60 participants. The core objective was to encourage the creation of a green society and foster sustainable community well-being.
As part of the KMUTT Green School Network initiative, this training event took place on July 11, 2023, at Supitchaya School. It was designed to integrate various activities that would instill in children and youth the consciousness for waste segregation, as well as energy conservation, aligning with national policies. The initiative aimed to expand environmental management to schools, create student leaders equipped with an understanding of energy conservation, environmental safety (Green Heart), and spread these principles to families, communities, and the wider society. Such an approach aids in building a sustainable green community for the future generations.
This effort by KMUTT and Supitchaya School resonates with the objectives of the SDGs 2030, particularly:
- Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
- Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
- Goal 13: Climate Action.
Through this collaboration, both institutions emphasize their commitment to shaping a sustainable and green future for Thailand.
