On September 9, 2023, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), led by Rector Prof. Dr. Suwit Saetia, welcomed the Jor Por. Suksawat Samut Prakan network and the Bangkok Metropolitan Region 2 Department of Labor Protection and Welfare. Also in attendance were the Human Resource Management Club and the Safety Management Club from the Suksawat and Bang Khun Thian areas. Over 200 participants joined in planting a mangrove forest at KMUTT’s location in Phanthai Norasing Subdistrict, Mueang District, Samut Sakhon Province.

This activity was organized to conserve and restore national resources to their original state, ensuring ecological balance. It also aimed to mitigate the impacts of greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, the event aligned with the policy of advancing tangible projects for achieving net-zero carbon emissions, contributing to returning profits to our society and the planet.

The mangrove planting activity supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, particularly Goal 14 (Life Below Water), focusing on the sustainable use of oceans, seas, and marine resources; Goal 15 (Life on Land), promoting the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems; and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts for sustainable development.
