The King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) held the “Green Heart Challenge” competition finals. Under the auspices of the Energy, Environment, Safety, and HealthCenter (EESH), in collaboration with student development networks, financial aid offices, faculties, departments, and other units within KMUTT, the event took place on April 23, 2024, at the Learning Complex Building’s ground floor. The objectives of the project were presented by Assoc. Prof. Suchada Chaisawadi, the director of EESH, with welcoming remarks from Asst. Prof. Yotpong Lo-onwong, Vice President for Student Affairs and Learning Development. The event was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaowalit Limmaneevichitr, Deputy Vice President for Student and Learning Development. A total of 42 entries were showcased, with 19 focusing on safety, 2 on energy, and 21 on the environment. Students presented their works on the GREEN HEART CHALLENGE stage, addressing energy management, environmental conservation, and safety measures. They shared problem statements, creative ideas, and proposed solutions, aiming to disseminate knowledge and contribute to community and societal development.
Gratitude was expressed to the four esteemed committee members for judging the presentations: Assoc. Prof. Pichai Khotsawas, Director of the Office of Building Management; Assoc. Prof. Suchada Chaisawadi, Director of EESH; Dr. Panalee Thanprasarn, Director of the Student Affairs Office; and Ms. Wimolwaran Changpan, representative from the Student Financial Aid Office. Internal stakeholders of KMUTT and external organizations, including the Student Affairs Office, the Office of Building and Facility Management, the Student Financial Aid Office, the Strategic Communication and Marketing Office, UNIC Product Industrial Co., Ltd., Farm Luck, Sakolnakorn Shop, and Jaew Jaew Shabu Restaurant, were acknowledged for their support. Participants and attendees had the opportunity to explore energy, environmental, and safety projects exhibited at the event, showcasing innovative ideas and solutions for various challenges. The event aimed to foster competencies in innovation, responsibility towards society and the environment, and a deep understanding of sustainable development goals (SDGs), ultimately striving to create change agents with a “Green Heart.”
The activities aligned with the SDGs 2030 objectives: supporting sustainable health and well-being (Goal 3), promoting quality education (Goal 4), ensuring access to clean energy (Goal 7), fostering sustainable cities and communities (Goal 11), promoting sustainable resource use (Goal 12), and combating climate change and its impacts (Goal 13).
