The Energy, Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health Center (EESH Center) organized a hands-on training session on energy, environmental, and safety management systems for the staff and contract employees of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) Bang Khun Thian. The training took place on June 10, 2023, at the KMUTT Sports Center, Bang Khun Thian. This session aimed to enhance awareness and understanding of energy management systems, waste management, safety according to Thai research laboratory standards, and emergency response protocols within the university. The targeted audience included cleaning staff, security personnel, and gardening staff.
Experts from the EESH Center, along with Green Heart student leaders, provided insights on the aforementioned topics. This training strives to standardize practices throughout the university, supporting its vision to become a sustainable green institution and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040 (KMUTT Carbon Neutrality 2040). The event adhered to social distancing guidelines and the principles of KMUTT’s New Normal operations.
The training aligns with the objectives of the SDGs 2030, specifically:
- Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, emphasizing the safety of university personnel.
- Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, promoting policies against the use of single-use foam and plastics.
- Goal 13: Climate Action, focusing on environmental conservation and energy savings to combat global warming.
