The Energy Environmental Safety and Health Center (EESH) in collaboration with King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) Ratchaburi, organized a basic firefighting and evacuation drill training for the dormitory buildings of KMUTT Bang Ratchaburi on January 18, 2024. The event was honored with the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Nitima Ajchariyapotha, Vice President for Academic Affairs at KMUTT Ratchaburi, who inaugurated the training program. The instructors for this session were provided by the Thammasen Sub-district Administrative Organization.
This training involved emergency evacuation preparation, review of firefighting plans, practical evacuation drills, and brainstorming lessons learned from the evacuation exercise. Conducted in accordance with legal requirements and the policy of energy, environmental safety, and occupational health management, the drill aimed to enhance the readiness of administrators, faculty, students, the emergency response committee of KMUTT Ratchaburi, the safety and emergency response team of KMUTT, the Thammasen Sub-district Disaster Relief Unit, and the Somdet Phra Yupparat Chombueng Hospital. With over 200 participants, this activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, emphasizing the importance of safety for students and staff within the university.
