The Energy, Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health Management Center (EESH Center), in collaboration with the Industrial Calibration Center (CIC), has organized a training program on ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for executives. This initiative is part of the project to develop analytical and research laboratories and services at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. The aim is to elevate standards and obtain ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. The training was held on September 22, 2022, at the UX 702 conference room, multipurpose building, 7th floor. Over 30 executives, laboratory heads, lecturers, and researchers interested in becoming model laboratories participated. The training, led by Associate Professor Dr. Aek Chaisawat, focused on understanding the reasons and outcomes of laboratories striving to meet ISO/IEC 17025 standards. It covered the national quality system’s comprehensive view, a key factor in assuring laboratory competency in analysis, research, and service provision at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. Adherence to the international ISO/IEC 17025 standards ensures reliable, globally recognized measurement, analysis, and testing results. The training employed various teaching techniques, including lectures, exercises, demonstrations, hands-on practices, and case studies, enhancing knowledge, skills, and approaches for preparing laboratories to meet international standards. This activity aligns with the goals of the SDGs 2030, particularly Goal 11, focusing on creating safe working environments.
