The Energy, Environment, Safety, and Health Center (EESH) organized a practical training program on energy, environmental, and safety management systems at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) Bangkhuntien. The event, held on March 23, 2024, at the Sport Complex Building, aimed to enhance awareness and understanding of waste management systems at KMUTT.
Mr. Podung Boonpetchar, the Director of the Physical Resource Management Office at KMUTT Bangkhuntien, presided over the opening ceremony. The training covered waste management systems, including waste sorting, types of waste, utilization of waste, energy-saving measures, workplace safety, and basic emergency response knowledge within the university.
Faculty speakers and the KMUTT Bangkhuntien EESH team, along with student leaders from Green Heart, provided insights and knowledge during the training. The objective was to foster understanding of energy, environmental, and safety management systems at KMUTT, promoting inclusive participation across all sectors. This initiative aimed to standardize practices throughout the university, supporting KMUTT’s journey towards sustainable development and its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040 (KMUTT Carbon Neutrality 2040).
Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, particularly Goal 11 on sustainable cities and communities, the training emphasized the importance of personnel safety within the university. Additionally, it supported Goal 12 by promoting sustainable consumption practices, such as reducing the use of foam and single-use plastics. Furthermore, Goal 13 on environmental conservation and climate action was addressed through efforts to conserve resources and reduce carbon emissions.
