On the occasion of National Tree Day, which coincides with Visakha Bucha Day (15th night of the 6th lunar month), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) Bang Mod, recognizing the importance of increasing green spaces through effective large-scale tree planting, joined forces with the Office of Building and Location Management and the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Health Center (EESH) to launch a project. This initiative aimed to plant trees to filter particulate matter and reduce temperatures within the university. The tree-planting event took place on May 12, 2022, with the participation of Mr. Somphon Noiyano, Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs Development System, other administrators, and staff of KMUTT. Together, they planted Chamchuri (Rain Tree) at the Learning Garden and Thammaraksa trees around the football field.

The activity, which saw over 20 participants, was conducted in accordance with social distancing guidelines. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, specifically Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, Goal 13: Climate Action, and Goal 15: Life on Land, focusing on protecting, restoring, and promoting sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems.
