Toxic waste recycling

 Hazardous Waste

KMUTT is committed to the proper management of environment especially chemical substance and hazardous waste from education and research activities. More than 2,000 chemical substances are handled in educations and researches laboratories and nearly 12 tons of Hazardous waste was generated in each year. The chemical management system and hazardous waste management system have been developed since 2005.

Hazardous waste reduction

Goals :70.0 % of Hazardous waste reduction by 2020 compared to 2010 baseline

Result :In 2016, 34.02 %of Hazardous waste reduction compared to 2010 baseline

According to hazardous waste reduction policy, KMUTT commit to reduce 70% of hazardous waste by the year 2020 compared to 2010 baseline. In the year 2016, KMUTT generate 9,644.5 Kg of hazardous waste with 7585.5 Kg of liquid hazardous waste, 1,637 Kg of solid hazardous waste and 422 Kg of special hazardous waste. The generated rate is 0.64 Kg/capita-year and is decreased 3.03% when compare to 2015.  It is 34.02 % reduction when compare to 2010 baseline.

Training and Preparation program in Hazardous waste management

Goal: 1,000 students and staff attend Training and Preparation program in Hazardous waste management.

Result: In 2016, 2,038 students and staffs in KMUTT attend the training and preparation program in Hazardous waste management system.

According to hazardous waste management system in KMUTT, all student and staff have to understand how to follow this management system correctly. Training and preparation program have been done by Training on Hazardous waste management system and hand on training for hazardous waste segregation. In the year 2016, 2,038 students and staffs in KMUTT attend the training and preparation program in Hazardous waste management system for manage their hazardous waste in laboratories. Training and preparation on the system have been done for five times a year to all KMUTT laboratory staffs. All of laboratories within KMUTT have been used the system for implementation
